crazy hair

 Our little Dieter bug has some crazy hair lately.  I've tried to comb it down as soon as he gets out of the bath, but it usually ends up sticking straight up!

 

mother's day

This year was my first mother's day as a mom!   My boys treated me right!  I woke up (early, but not as early as usual...Dieter must have known it was a day for me to sleep in) to find this gem on our chalkboard wall.  I had a great day.  I feel so lucky to be Dieter's mommy.

Friends

 Dieter and Afton.  Dieter was tugging on poor Afton's ear and trying to poke her eyes .  He's already tormenting girls?!

 My good friend Monica had baby Afton in February.  They blessed her on Sunday.  I joked that when Dieter and Afton get married we can show this picture of them at their wedding!

pulling himself up

Dieter is pulling himself up.  I had to promptly lower his bed the other day when he did it for the first time.  It is so much fun to watch him grow and develop.  I thank my Heavenly Father every day for letting us be his parents. 

eight months

Within the last month, Dieter has really started to show his personality.  He is so much fun!  He finally is started to be less serious.  He is curious about EVERYTHING!  He has become very mobile and thinks he can go where he wants, when he wants; resulting in a couple of accidents that made mom cry almost as hard as Dieter.  For the first time yesterday, he pulled himself up from a seated position.  He likes to chat and he has the sweetest voice.  So far, he likes to travel.  We went to Utah and he was such a trooper for the entire 11 hour ride each way.  He looks forward to Wes coming home from work each day.  He is daddy's buddy!

Maifest

 The Turn Verein (the local German Club) hosted a  May Day festival.  They had the traditional May Pole dance, other traditional German dances (aka...the chicken dance), food, etc.  We went with a family from our ward.  Lucky for us we have a small pair of Lederhosen for Dieter.  He was a hit a the Turn Verein.  The older German ladies and gentleman loved it!  They were a little stiff and probably uncomfortable, so I doubt Dieter loved them.
