First Easter

This is the token Easter picture (and it doesn't really scream Easter)!  He was dressed really, really cute for church and I just forgot to take a picture before he disrobed to his comfy clothers.  Our neighbors hid the plastic eggs for their kids in our/their front yard.  We hurried and stole one before the kiddos came out to collect them just so we could get a picture of Dieter with an Easter egg.  He was very reluctant to give it back to them.  We did give him an Easter gift, I was just too lazy to put it in a basket and make all cute.  He won't remember and hopefully next year I will be better!

"how's your little dude"

We have a neighbor, a few doors down, that is a mix between a redneck, hippie, and harley-driving motorcycle man.  Whatever he is, I think at one point in his life he did way too many drugs.  He really is a nice man.  The other day as Wes was walking home from the light rail station, this neighbor stopped him and asked, "how's your little dude?".  To answer, George, our little dude is awesome!

1/2 year

Can this boy get any cuter?!!  At 6 months he is more curious than ever.  He loves technology...the lights on the microwave, dvd player, the iPad, etc.  He would love it if he could live life naked.  He can't get enough of looking at himself in the mirror.  He has two teeth (and they are extremely sharp!).  I can get him to sleep by singing him a medley of 5 songs (Edleweiss, I am a Child of God, Heavenly Father Loves Me, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, and Somewhere over the Rainbow).  He likes to wear hats (picture below-hat is huge!).  He can sit up on his own, but seems more interested in standing up.  His favorite foods are Avocados, Peaches and Butternut Squash.

the one weekend project that took four

Clarification,we (when I say we, I mean Wes) didn't work on it every weekend in the 4 week time span.  It seems our weekends get filled up rather quickly lately.  Wes and I have been trying to decide for some time if we should paint the brick surrounding the fireplace.  It's a shame to cover up red brick, but we just thought it would look so much better white.  We are looking to make our house have a more modern feel and it seems white brick would do the trick.  I love how it turned out.  Wes did a fantastic job painting it.  It brightens the rooms and just looks crisp and clean.

2 full time jobs

I love being Dieter's mom!  I also like my 8 hour a day job (You'll notice, I didn't say I love my job...but I do highly like it).  I want to be the best I can be at both.  I feel so lucky that I get to work from home.  Some days though, are very long.  I sometimes get jealous of women who get to go to an office.  I do know that if I "went" to work that would mean dropping off Dieter in someone else's care and that would make me jealous too.  So I'll take the overlap of doing both of my full time jobs at the same time.  Some times it means I'll have to resort to creativity, such as Dieter playing in a cardboard box while I do my 8 hour a day job!

first bike ride

We have had incredibly lovely weather.  The blossoms are coming out on the trees and sun has been shining.  Wes took Dieter out for his first bike ride.  Yes, we are the cheesy parents that are documenting all his "firsts".  Dieter loves being outside and it didn't really matter if he was on the bike or not...he seemed totally indifferent to the bike ride.
