In the black and white photo it looks like they coordinated with their plaids. So cute!
We found these little ore carts that we could put Dieter in. He has started to be a little face-puller when ever the camera comes out. It's quite funny!
All over the property of the mine there are old machinery and equipment. It was fun to go exploring!
The "cottage" behind us is where the original owners of the mine lived whenever they were at the mine. Their real home was in San Francisco. The tour guide was excellent and gave us all sorts of cool facts about the owners of the mine and the history of the times. Notice, Dieter was at the end of his museum limit. Luckily, the tour ended at the cottage.
The son of the owner of the mine (who later inherited it) went to Oxford England to college. He fell in love with the English landscaping and architecture and patterned his house and gardens after it. It is beautiful. I could take an entire day just to sit and take in the beautiful gardens.
Dieter drifted to slumber as we roamed the gardens.
