| Tiffany wanted me to document that she is the Event Manager! |
What an event my brother-in-law has put together! He and my amazing sister manage and run the Crusher in the Tushar bike race. It is 70 miles on both road and mountain terrain. The setting is in the beautiful mountains of Beaver UT. The starting line is basically in front of my parent's home and the finish line is at 10,000 ft or more above sea level. This was my first year witnessing the race. It was exciting and amazing and exhausting (mostly exhausting for Tiffany and Burke and all the crew that helped). This year there were about 525 registered and about 475 that actually showed up. There are some amazing cyclists that come to this race. This year Levi Leipheimer came and conquered.
Look at this sea of riders!
This is my sister with Tyler Wren, I believe. He won the race the prior two years. This year, close to the end of the race he took a nasty fall and got injured. He still got 2nd place and beat his time from last year.
Levi Leipheimer-tour de france stage winner, tour of California winner and this year's winner of the CRUSHER!
All the pros lined up and ready to go
All of my siblings were in town for this fun event...including miss Charlotte and her doll in her very own Crusher bag!
Women pros lined up and ready to go. This year's winner is Gretchen Reeves
Notice the elevation at the finish line. These guys and gals were in a world of hurt after this race.
Dieter and I with our good pal Levi!
Dieter loved ringing the cow bell to encourage the racers
Dieter helped with the clean up. We had to wash and sort all those water bottles. He got them all right except for that blue lid mixed with the red. I suppose we need to work on his colors!
