Our little Dieter loves American flags and balloons. He was not disappointed by the Pioneer Day Parade. It had all the things he loves. The parade started around his morning nap time, so he was a little grumpy at first, but he hung in there for the entire parade.
Watching the parade with cousin Spencer
I wish the Girls Scouts would have thrown out boxes of their cookies. That would have made this one of the coolest parades ever. We didn't even get squeaky cheese this year...someone needs to chat with the Cheese Factory people to set them straight for next year!
I thought this was a darling float (the theme for the parade this year was The Joy is in the Journey)Now that Anthony and Holly live in Beaver their kids will be in all the parades. Tyson and Tanner were on the look out for us.
Mom and Dad at the parade. Poor Dieter was having a tough time...until
The balloons came!
Uncle Terry was kind enough to hold him and let him marvel at all those balloons.
Who can resist this face?!
They just don't do parades like in Beaver. I miss those community-made floats. And Mr. Kersiek with the bouncing tractor. As a kid, pioneer day was right up there with Halloween and Christmas for me. New outfit, candy, the parade, and booths at the city park. Good memories.
